HISTORY
Mike and Donna Baker formed a partnership called MK Products
in 1986, pursuing commercial diving projects.
MK Products became involved in harvesting specified seaweed's
and sponges for the use in cancer research. They also studied
Horse Mussels with a view to establishing a sustainable industry.
The business grew rapidly, and in 1992 they dissolved the
partnership to immediately form Commercial Diving
Consultants Limited.
CDC prides itself on an excellent safety record and the requisition
of the latest diving equipment available.
While general commercial diving continued to grow, CDC offered
a comprehensive service to the marine farming industry in
the field of both diving expertise and anchoring consultancy.
CDC developed a Spiral Anchoring system which allows more
efficient use of allotted water space. Currently CDC has installed
over 8000 Spiral Anchors. These
marine farms enjoy increased productivity and peace of mind
during severe weather conditions.
In 1994 CDC commissioned it's purpose built Dive Support
Vessel - "Soundz Image",
which was designed specifically for their needs.
In 2000 CDC won the Service Industry Excellence Award
and the Supreme Award at the Marlborough
Business Awards.
