MARINE FARMS

CDC is the largest installer of Spiral anchor systems in
New Zealand. Our company has developed farms from Stewart
Island in the southern part of the South Island, Banks Peninsula
in Canterbury, Coromandel, Auckland Region ( North Island),
Marlborough Sounds and Golden Bay.
During days with bad weather Spiral Anchors will not move
from their site, they offer an Anchor force which is unsurpassed
by other conventional systems especially so on sloping shorelines.
Anchor placement is extremely accurate, due to the installation
method using our DGPS system. This is assisted by the correct
marking out of the farm site by a registered surveyor.
They are environmentally friendly both during and after installation
only disturbing 1 meter of seabed, for a short period of time.
To date Commercial Diving Consultants Ltd have installed over
8000 Spiral Anchors on Mussel, Salmon and Oyster farms. The
Anchoring properties really become evident when you realise
some Mussel farms can have up to 80 tonnes per line prior
to harvesting, this line is Anchored in place by two Spiral
Anchors.
